
Biography
FREDERICK SCHLICK (tenor) is a New York City based performer, and a Master’s in Opera Performance graduate of The Boston Conservatory. During his time at The Boston Conservatory Frederick had the opportunity to be a part of every production offered between the 2014-2016 seasons. His role credits included the following: Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, Bill in Johnathan Dove’s Flight, Gastone/Alfredo cover in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata and Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro.
After his time at Boston Conservatory, Frederick became a member of Brevard Music Center’s Janiec Opera company for the summer of 2016. There he sang the roles of Lysander in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and the role of Ethan Krusemark in the world premiere of Falling Angel. He was also one of the tenor soloists in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music.
In the fall of 2016, Frederick made his professional debut as Young Jim Thompson in Tom Cipullo’s Glory Denied with Pensacola Opera, and recently reprised the same role with Tri-Cities Opera in the fall of 2017. 2018 marked Frederick’s NYC debut when he joined City Lyric Opera as Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore and returned in 2019 to sing Don José in La Tragédie de Carmen. 2020 kicks off with Frederick singing Rodolfo in Lancaster Opera’s La Bohème. This is immediately followed by Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with The Eurasia Festival. In the Summer of 2020 Frederick will perform Percy in Dell’Arte Festival’s production of Anna Bolena.
